At 17 years of age, Danny Brown built a stage in a dilapidated old metal shed on the family farm in Mt. Vernon Iowa. He and his band, Reason of Haste, practiced in the shed diligently. At 18, Dan went off to study audio engineering in Nashville TN, but made his intentions clear about returning to Mt. Vernon and finishing the shed.  His intentions were to create a venue where people could play any kind of music, invite their friends and family, practice their craft and learn about live sound production.  Unfortunately , Danny was killed in the 2010 Nashville flood.  We have decided to carry on the mission of the MetalShed where Dan left off.​
